Orlando Events Center, Orlando, FL.

General Scope of Project: The Orlando Events Center is an indoor arena located at the southwest corner of Church Street and Hughey Avenue in Orlando, Florida.  The seven (7) story, approximately 850,000 square foot, facility is a mixed-use building including a 20,000 seat arena to be used for sporting and other entertainment type events.  Additional space is provided for retail, parking, private suites, locker rooms and training areas (including a practice court), maintenance and other support type facilities (i.e., electrical, mechanical and storage rooms).

The building is designed as Type IA Construction using the non-separated use provisions of the Building Code.  In addition, the building utilizes the smoke protected assembly seating provisions and is considered fully sprinklered in accordance with NFPA 13.

Howe Engineers, Inc. provided complete fire protection engineering and code consulting services for this new 20,000 seat Arena in Orlando, FL. In addition to design phase services, Howe Engineers also served as the Special Inspector for the Projects Smoke Control Systems.

 

Farmers Field, Los Angeles, CA.

General Scope of Project:The Farmers Field Project is new cutting edge operable roof NFL Stadium to be located in Downtown Los Angeles, California.  The seven (7) story, approximately 1,700,000 square foot, facility is a mixed-use building including a 68,000 (Expandable to 78,000) seat bowl to be used for sporting and other entertainment type events.  Additional space is provided for retail, parking, private suites, locker rooms and training areas (including a practice court), maintenance and other support type facilities (i.e., electrical, mechanical and storage rooms).

The building is located in the heart of Downtown LA adjacent to and connected to the Staples Center, LA Live and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The building is designed as Type IA Construction using the non-separated use provisions of the Building Code.  In addition, the building utilizes the smoke protected assembly seating provisions and is considered fully sprinklered in accordance with NFPA 13.
